Day 31. Home. 29.7.24

Very windy and chilly overnight. Packed up and hit the road for home by 8.30am.  Only stopping to use the dump point in Biggenden and breakfast in Childers.

We have a few things to do before we head out again for a father's day weekend camping with the family.

Travelled 92kms, for a total of 2,640kms towing this trip.

My favourite pool on this trip was the 'cave' pool in the Cunnamulla complex. I found it lovely and warm and very relaxing.

Our JJ has now travelled 36,584kms.

Since I retired in early 2018 we have towed 84,384 kms.

Day 30. Biggenden. 28.7.24

Ollie had a sleep over last night.  We must have worn him out as he slept for 12 hours.

We had a family day at Rachel and John's new block.

Although the pic doesn't show it, this part of the driveway is very steep.
Coffee with a view.

Pretty sky to finish our last day of exploring. We head home tomorrow sadly.

Day 29. Biggenden. 27.7.24

Seth slept over last night. We went to the little CWA market.

We walked down to meet Rachel and the boys at the park for a bacon n egg brunch but the bbqs didn't work so after a play we walked back to her house.

Day 28. Biggenden. 26.7.24

A few short walks today. There was a cattle sale yesterday so the yards are pretty busy and noisy.

The bee 🐝 shop now has a coffee cart that served a pretty decent brew.
I had a go at making lemonade scones in my little cooker. They need a bit of fine tuning as they weren't as light and fluffy as they should have been. More practice needed 🐽

Today is Seth's 9th birthday.  We're going to the Grand Hotel for dinner and he's chosen a freddo 🐸 ice cream 🎂 for dessert.

The pub was busy and the twins weren't happy, so just Mark, Seth, Ollie and I had dinner out.

Seth stayed over in the van and we had a few games of UNO before bedtime.

Day 27. Biggenden. 25.7.24

After a very quite night in the van at home we packed up and departed just before 8am. We had a bag of limes to drop off at Naughty Cafe so decided to have breakfast there as well.

Set up and having a cuppa in Biggenden by 10.30am in the sunshine.

Rachel and John and the boys are now very happy owners of 100+ acres of land in Biggenden with stunning 360° views. We've selected our camp spot already.

The boys are already loving it.

The weather was perfect today, back in shorts and tshirts. We travelled 92kms, total 2,548.

Day 26. Howard. 24.7.24

Interesting plan for today. We're departing Fat Hen and going home for a few hours. We have a couple of important things to do then we're going to head back out. We're going to stay the night at the RV camp in Howard,  walking to the pub to have dinner with Greg and Wendy.

Well our plans have changed and we're camping in our own yard tonight as the RV Park is busy.

Jobs done I had a lovely afternoon reading in the van.

Travelled 127kms, total 2,456 kms.

Day 25. Fat Hen Creek. 23.7.24

Another very chilly morning, 2°.

Mist rising and pelicans on the water made my frozen hands come out of the pockets long enough to snap a few pics.
We packed up and headed in to Chinchilla to use the dump point and get some water. Also made use of the phone reception and got the blog updated.

Stopped in Durong to make mornos and also stopped to have a look at the Stuart River rest area for future reference.

We are planning on spending the night at the Fat Hen rest area just out of Kilkivan. It was a very pleasant 23° when we passed through Kilkivan.
Our personal dining area for the night?
Cooking dinner with a lovely view.

We travelled 233kms, total 2,329.
